ABOUT ME

I'm a political ecology researcher exploring how emotions shape socio-environmental conflicts, collective action, and relationships with land and territory. I aim to connect academic research with broader conversations, making knowledge more accessible and relevant beyond academic spaces.

EMOTIONAL POLITICAL ECOLOGIES

About this line
of research

Emotional political ecologies explore how affective dimensions shape our relationship with the environment in contexts of environmental change, disasters, and socio-ecological conflicts. From a critical perspective, this approach seeks to understand how power relations, inequalities, and environmental policies are intertwined with the lived experience of ecological transformations, opening up new ways of thinking about the political through the sensory and the everyday.

Rather than a closed field, this is an emerging line of research that engages with multiple material contexts and scales. In these settings, emotions do not merely accompany processes of change; they actively shape them by influencing how transformations are perceived, how territories are inhabited, and how possibilities are imagined.

"Not just the topic,
but the way
of inhabiting it."

TEACHING AND SUPERVISION

Teaching and
academic supervision

I teach in the areas of political ecology, gender studies, and qualitative methods. My pedagogical approach prioritises reflexivity, listening, and situated critical thinking. I supervise theses and research projects in which emotional and affective dimensions are recognised as legitimate parts of academic analysis.
